A day in my life as a WAHM/SAHM

I'm going to give you a glimpse of my days as a Work At Home Mom/ Stay At Home Mom...and my day begins this way most days and most weeks unless we're at medical appointments which are every week.

(0445) My husband leaves for work I roll over and nurse our baby and fall back to sleep. (0630) Our 3yo and 6yo are up (it's summer)so in they come to check and see if I am sleeping;not anymore. I get up brush my teeth, open curtains and fix our bed, change the baby's diaper. I head to the kitchen and look what to make for breakfast while already preparing my much needed coffee. Ahh Coffee the fuel for my day, did I mention I was up last night about every 30min with our 2yo daughter?

(0730)So I continue on with breakfast, kids have the TV on while running back and forth already looking for toys, our 1yo toddles into the kitchen and wants a hug and a bottle while she waits. Meanwhile I already have my computer loading up, kids getting ready for the day and my 2yo still asleep. I watch the news while cooking and start picking up whatever mess was left from the night before.
AHH breakfast is ready. Do I wake my 2yo or let her sleep in today? I change her diaper and no response.

Well today she sleeps in, she really didn't get much sleep last night as she has sleep apnea and other sleep issues all because of her Turner Syndrome. That's another story.

(0800) We eat our breakfast while kids go run to play with new found energy I go back to the kitchen and clean up to get our day started. I do the dishes, put away, wash, sweep and mop floors, clean counters and look for something for lunch and dinner and make a mental note.
Wipe and clean baby, remind my 3yo to go potty, change baby's diaper.

(0900)Off to the living room to vacuum and pick up toys, check in on my 2yo, sit down for 30min to delete emails and skim thru others. I'll read the important ones later on with more time. Back to cleaning and doing laundry. All while checking on my 6yo and 3yo and having the baby toddle around behind me.

(1030)Ahh time to sit down and play with kids, ask them what they'd like to do and what they'd like for lunch.
We practice our colors, numbers and shapes. Play peek-a-boo or go outside to the swings.

(1100)My 2yo is finally up. Good morning pumpkin! Oh boy! She wants a cookie. YUP! a cookie! I change her diaper first and then we got to the kitchen and offer her breakfast and finally she settles for bananas. I'm off to start lunch.

(1200)We all sit down again to eat and talk during lunch. Dads still at work, baby is getting sleepy and the kids are just fueled and ready to do again.Food is all over the floor and banana can be find in just about every room in the house.

(1300)I change the baby's and I lay her down for nap. Sweep and mop kitchen again, do the dishes. Put the gate up so my 2yo won't wake up the baby in her playpen and we're off to pick up the incredible mess they have left from playing with every single toy they own and have not put back when they were done.

(1400) Ok finally a bit of peace,I put my 2yo in her room for quiet time after changing her diaper and reminding my 3yo to go potty and now my 3yo and 6yo are being quiet in their room, watching a movie and playing pretend. Well it's not going to be that easy, my 2yo keeps calling me, the older kids keep coming in and out of their room, the phones ringing and I still have not started to work on my sites or my crafts.

(1530) My 2yo finally fell asleep, my other 2 are quiet and and oh well, almost time for the baby to wake up, change another diaper, clean up again and start dinner.
I squeeze in reading some emails and sending out others. I glance at my site and make a list of what needs to be done, hopefully before the turn of the century.

(1700) Dinner is ready, I'm doing dishes and setting up the table, the kids sit down to eat, Dad walks in early and eats with us and we talk about our day.

(1800) We go outside with the kids to play on the swings. I sneak an email or two here and there and back outside again. I sneak in my shower while my husband has the kids.

(1900) We start getting kids ready for bed, give our 2yo her meds and showers and brushing teeth, sometimes read a book and pray that Dad doesn't go to Iraq.

(2000) Start rounding up the kids to go to bed, our 2yo already fell asleep bc of her meds, our 3yo is fighting to stay up, our 6yo goes to bed happy and our baby toddles around the house following us and stays up.

(2100)Dad gets this things ready for the next day. Baby is now nursing to fall asleep and we catch up on our day and us. I put the baby down.

(2200)My husband goes to bed, I check on my 2yo and change her diaper, check on the other kids, tuck baby into her crib and sit down at the computer ready to work...NOT
I am tired, still have a headache from the night before and I have tons of emails requesting information or needing help. I answer my emails, I give support, I work a bit on my site and tomorrow is another day.

(2330)I and dead tired, my 2yo wakes up calling me, she needs a drink and a cookie or fruit snack (her meds make her thirsty and hungry)and she has problems staying asleep.

(2400) I go to bed and the baby wakes up to nurse. I get her and lay in our bed and fall asleep.

(0130)My 2yo once again needs me,she's scared, wet and wants her TV on.

(0330) She's up, not sure she ever went to sleep, I change her diaper again, fix her bed, kiss her goodnight and she starts crying for dad, he comes in and goes to sleep in her room while she's still up.I head back to bed and hope to get some sleep.

(0500)She finally jumps in her bed, asks for her cup and TV on and falls asleep it's 0600.

Good Morning!

Maybe today I can get some work done?
Oh NO! We have Dr's appointment...tomorrow is another day.
